Hayrides have become a fall tradition for many in the St. Louis area.
I went on my first hayride when I was in college and have been enchanted with hayrides ever since. While many of the local hayrides still let you sit on bales of hay, many are actually wagon rides with all of the hay in the fields. Either way, they are a lot of fun.
St. Louis offers a wide variety of hayride options. Whether you need something that is family friendly, takes you through haunted cornfields or let’s you have fun with 20 of your friends, you can find all of the local hayrides below. Scroll below the public hayride list for hayride options for your private group.
Just a note, most of the pumpkin patches also let you ride in a wagon out to the fields where you can pick pumpkins.
Pumpkin patch venues aimed at families with young children that offer short hayrides are offered are NOT included in this hayride list. Only venues where the hayride is the main attraction are included here.

Open to the Public Hayrides:
Broemmelsiek Park (Wentzville):
Enjoy a 45-minute hay ride through the park, along with a light dinner, smores, and live entertainment by Babaloo, a one-man musical comedy act suitable for all ages. Pre-registration required.
Date: Saturday October 17
Time: 6 PM
Cost: $10.50 per person
Brookdale Farms (Eureka):
Farmer Bob’s haunted hayride is a 2 mile ride through Brookdale Farms.
Dates: Fridays and Saturdays October 2 – October 31
Time: 7 PM to midnight
Cost: $13 per person for Farmer Bob’s hayride, or $20 for hayride plus haunted corn maze
Creepyworld (Fenton):
Zombie City Paintball Haunted Hayride is one of the most elaborate haunted hayrides in America with Hollywood quality sets, design and effects.
Dates: September 25-26, October 2-4, 8-11, 15-18, 22-31, November 1,6,7
Time: Time varies by date
Cost: $30 per person, $28 under 11 yrs (includes all Creepyworld attractions)
Creve Coeur Park (Maryland Heights):
Enjoy country music, marshmallows and hot chocolate after a family friendly hayride. Bring everyone along, a ramp assisted hay wagon will be available for people with accessibility issues. Lawn chairs are welcome; music starts at 6pm.
Dates: Friday September 25
Time: 5:30 PM, 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, 8:30 PM
Cost: $10 per person
Eckert’s Farm (Millstadt, IL):
Eckert’s Haunted Hayrides are a family friendly nighttime journey through the orchard with ghoulish surprises along the way! Hayrides run continuously on Friday and Saturday nights, starting at sundown until about 10 p.m. from a central boarding location. One ride is included with each paid admission into the Fun Farm; additional rides are $5 per person and can be purchased at the Fun Farm ticket booth.
Dates: Fridays and Saturdays September 18 – October 30
Time: Sundown until 10 PM
Cost: Free with $12 paid admission to the fun farm, hayride only tickets $5 each
Faust Park (Chesterfield):
Take a hayride around Faust Park and then explore the candlelit historic homes where you can enjoy refreshments and storytellers. Bonfire and live music included.
Dates: Friday October 9 and Saturday October 10
Time: 6 PM, 7 PM, 8 PM
Cost: $10 per person
Fort Belle Fontaine (Spanish Lake):
Not just a hayride, this is a family friendly event for the history buff and nature lover. Costumed re-enactors from the War of 1812, Civil War, World War II and other periods will explain their uniforms and equipment.
Dates: Saturday November 7 and Sunday November 8
Time: Saturday 10 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:30 PM and Sunday 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM
Cost: $7 per person
Greensfelder Park (Wildwood):
Ride in a hay wagon and then roast marshmallows and drink hot chocolate at the bonfire while you listen to live country music played by Robyn Lee.
Dates: Friday October 2 and Saturday October 3
Time: Friday 6 PM, 7 PM, 8 PM and Saturday 4 PM, 5 PM, 6 PM
Cost: $10 per person
Jefferson Barracks (South County):
Enjoy a hayride through historic Jefferson Barracks with re-enactor vignettes throughout the park. The re-enactors will explain their time period, uniforms and equipment during stops.
Dates: Saturday September 12 and Sunday September 13
Time: Saturday 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM and Sunday 12 PM and 2 PM
Cost: $7 per person
Take a 45 minute hayride of the grand old military base. A fun family experience. After your hayride you’ll enjoy roasting marshmallows over an open fire, sipping hot chocolate and listening to George Portz.
Dates: Friday October 16 and Saturday October 17
Time: 6 PM, 7 PM, 8 PM
Cost: $10 per person
Lone Elk Park (Valley Park):
Ride a hay wagon through as you look for elk, deer and other wildlife. Later you can warm up by the fire, roast marshmallows and listen to live music. Bring a flashlight and lawn chairs, music starts at 7 PM.
Dates: Friday October 16 and Saturday October 17
Time: 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, 8:30 PM
Cost: $10 per person
Queeny Park (West County):
Adults only hayride with bonfire and live music. Food trucks and beverages available for purchase. Bring a lawn chair but no coolers allowed.
Dates: Saturday September 19
Time: 6 PM – 10 PM (hayrides start at 6:30 PM)
Cost: $10 per person
Xtreme Paintball Park (Millstadt, IL):
Grab a paintball gun and jump on the Haunted Paintball Hayride. Once the ride is over, you still must make it down the Haunted Trail, where you will encounter more scary creatures.
Dates: Fridays and Saturdays in October 2 – 24
Time: 7 PM – 10 PM
Cost: $17 includes Haunted Paintball Hayride and Haunted Trail, rental gun and 100 paintballs
Private Group Hayrides:
Aholt Farms (Augusta):
Enjoy a hayride and bonfire dinner of hotdogs, chips, roasted marshmallows and soda. Explore the 5 acre corn maze by flashlight.
Dates: September 26 – November 1
Time: 6-9 PM
Cost: $10 person (ages 2+), minimum 15 people
Broemmelsiek Park (Wentzville):
Two tractor pulled wagons take guests on a 45-minute ride through tree-lined fields of the park. After the hayride, enjoy a campfire for an hour to roast your own treats. Guests may bring non-alcoholic beverages, but glass containers are prohibited on the wagons or at the campfire site. Advanced reservations are required.
Dates: September 18 – November 15
Time: Fridays hourly 6 PM – 8 PM, Saturdays/Sundays hourly 5 PM – 8 PM
Cost: $125 (20 people maximum)
Brookdale Farm (Eureka):
Tractor or horse drawn hayrides that accommodate 20 people per wagon. The tractor wagon is filled with hay for comfortable seating, and the horse drawn wagon includes bench seating and easy entry with just 2 steps up and a handrail. Tractor hayride includes a one hour ride and 1 hour campfire.

Cost: $150 for tractor hayride (20 people maximum), $350 1st hour ($150 additional hour) for horse drawn hayride
Hammer’s Farm (Florissant):
Group hayrides in wagons that hold 25 people. You can also schedule hayrides during the day and outside of the normal hayride season.
Dates: September – November
Time: Fridays hourly between 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM, Saturdays hourly between 4:30 PM – 10:30 PM, Sundays hourly between 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Cost: $230 per wagon (approximately $10/person)
Pin Oak Farms (New Haven):
Enjoy a private group hayride lasting 30-45 minute through the vegetable and cattle farm. After the hayride, enjoy a country bonfire with straw bales for resting while you roast your hot dogs and marshmallows (you bring the food). Stay for a few hours or bring some tents and stay overnight.
Dates: Weekends in October
Time: Hayride begins at dusk
Cost: Minimum fee of $75 – $7.50 per person, children under 6 years are free
Queeny Park (West County):
Reserve a wagon for your group for a Friday or Saturday night hayride. Hayrides last 45 minutes followed by a 1 hour cook fire.
Dates: April – May and September – November on Friday and Saturdays
Time: 6 PM, 7 PM, 8 PM
Cost: $150 (maximum of 20 people)
