I’m not a dog owner, but I love the idea of dog parks.
When I was a kid, taking my dog for a walk usually meant I walked around my subdivision, holding the leash, while my dog Nicki ran loose through the yards.
Nowadays, dogs don’t much have much of a chance to run off leash.
About a year ago, I put together a list of all of the St. Louis area dog parks to help people who wanted to buy a home near a dog park.
I thought it was time for an update, so here is the list again.
Before visiting one of these dog parks, please click through for more information to confirm that the park is still open and to check out the rules which vary from park to park. Most parks require registration, and all have restrictions on puppies and aggressive dogs, the number of dogs you can bring with you and the age of children allowed in the dog parks.
Registration is required for all St. Louis City and St. Louis County dog parks. If you want to just try one out for a day, head to St. Charles County or Arnold. They are free and no registration is required.
